PARTNERSHIP FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

In order to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goal 17, the Department of Psychology and Correctional Pedagogy constantly cooperates with partner organizations. One of the examples is the industrial practice of students.
The purpose of internship is to consolidate professional competencies, acquisition by students of practical skills and experience of professional activity.
Achievement of this goal is possible only in situations of real professional activity, which is provided by the organizations – social partners, providing a base of practice and organizing practical activities of students in the field.

For example, a 4th year student of EP “Psychology” Egorova Elina is undergoing practical training in “Secondary School №12” in Ridder. Practice is aimed at fostering a sustainable interest and positive attitude to the profession of psychologist, obtaining professional skills and experience of practical activity.
During the internship Elina performed diagnostic, correctional, preventive and educational work. She participated in trainings and class hours, conducted classes for elementary school students.
She proved herself as a competent, diligent and disciplined specialist. She coped with all assigned tasks, showing not only good theoretical training, but also the ability to apply and use the knowledge to solve specific practical psychological problems. That is confirmed by her participation in the regional practical seminar “Emergency support and stabilization of a teacher in a situation of chronic failure”. The seminar was organized by the branch of JSC “NCPC ‘Orleu’ in East Kazakhstan region and ‘East Kazakhstan regional scientific and methodological center of informatization and development of education ’Orken” of Education Department of East Kazakhstan region Ust-Kamenogorsk.
The student demonstrated professional skills during the seminar by participating in discussions.

To date, she has received several job offers and is actively preparing for the Teacher Knowledge Assessment.
