PRIDE OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY: CHAMPION RAMINA TOKTARBEKOVA
At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, students are not only future specialists but also true champions. One of the brightest representatives of the university’s athletic youth is second-year student of the “Physical Culture and Sports” program, Ramina Toktarbekova.
From early childhood, Ramina has been devoted to karate. Over 11 years ago, she saw an announcement about enrollment in the “OKAMI” karate school and decided to try the sport. This decision proved life-changing — karate became not just a hobby, but a lifelong pursuit.
Through years of diligent training and constant self-improvement, Ramina has achieved remarkable results. She is a multiple-time champion of city and regional tournaments, a two-time champion and two-time prizewinner of the Republic of Kazakhstan Championship, as well as a winner and prizewinner of international competitions. She has been awarded the title of Candidate for Master of Sports. Additionally, she was recognized as “Athlete of the Year” by the Republican Public Association “KABI.”
Ramina is currently a member of the national team of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Shinkyokushin karate and is actively preparing for prestigious international events: the “DUBAI OPEN All World Cup” (June 2026), the European Championship in the Netherlands (October 2026), and the World Championship in Japan (October 2027).
As part of her preparation for major competitions, she participated in the Kazakhstan Open Regional Shinkyokushin Karate Tournament “Kabanbay Batyr” in Almaty. Ramina demonstrated exceptional skill, determination, and physical fitness, winning first place in the girls’ 18+ category (-50 kg) and becoming the tournament champion.
Ramina’s story is an example of determination, discipline, and dedication. Balancing her university studies with professional sports, she confidently moves toward new heights, bringing honor not only to her alma mater but also to her country on the international stage.
