At the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technologies of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a regional informatics olympiad was held among 11th-grade students.
Gifted students from the Tarbagatai, Altai, and Glubokoe districts, as well as schools in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, participated in the intellectual competition. The total number of participants was 47. The olympiad aimed to assess the knowledge level of graduates interested in the IT field, develop their intellectual potential, and enhance career guidance efforts.
A key feature of the olympiad was the awarding of the main prize — a four-year educational grant. This grant represents a significant opportunity for the best students striving for high achievements in IT and serves as an important first step in their future professional careers.
The main prize was awarded to 11th-grade student Alizhan Kakim (Ust-Kamenogorsk, KGU “Secondary School No. 50”). He demonstrated a high level of preparation, successfully completing both theoretical and practical tasks.
During the olympiad, department lecturers A.E. Tukushova and Zh.S. Serikova conducted a methodological seminar for school teachers on the topic “Smart Informatics: Innovative Pedagogical Solutions Using AI.” The seminar covered effective ways to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into the educational process, modern approaches to developing intelligent pedagogical solutions, and practical aspects of using digital tools in lessons.
At the conclusion of the event, teachers received letters of appreciation and certificates on behalf of the university, and the olympiad winners were awarded valuable prizes and diplomas.
The regional informatics olympiad made a significant contribution to supporting gifted youth in the region, developing their abilities in information technology, and strengthening collaboration between the university and local schools.
