SCIENTISTS OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY COMPLETED A RESEARCH INTERNSHIP IN AZERBAIJAN

As part of the targeted program project AR26199899 “Regional Integration of Literary and Linguistic Tourism in East Kazakhstan: Digitalization of the Etymology of Toponyms and Local Legends,” approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University completed a research internship at the Center for Turkic Studies of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.

The delegation included Professor of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism, Doctor of Philology Aizhan Kartaeva; Head of Department Karlygash Barbosynova; Associate Professor, Candidate of Philology Aigul Alimkhan; and Senior Lecturer Jazira Kairbayeva.

The purpose of the scientific trip was to establish and develop inter-university research connections, exchange scientific and educational experience, discuss prospects for joint research in literary studies, linguistics, and Turkology, and consider current issues in the digitalization of cultural and folklore heritage.

During the internship, participants gained detailed insights into the research directions of the Azerbaijan University of Languages, practices for applying modern digital technologies in linguistics, as well as projects on the study of toponymy and the folklore heritage of Turkic peoples.

Following the visit, the scientific foundations for conducting a comparative-typological analysis of common and similar toponyms of East Kazakhstan and the Azerbaijan region were determined, and the source base and methodological approaches for future joint research were clarified. The results obtained open new opportunities for expanding the regional integration potential of the project and strengthening international scientific cooperation.
