THE STRENGTH OF SPIRIT AND THE WILL TO WIN: THE SUCCESS OF AN AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY STUDENT
Second-year student of the “Physical Culture and Sports” educational program, Ramina Toktarbekova, continues to conquer new heights in Sokyokushinkai Kan Karate. Recently, she became the winner of the IV Open Tournament “Akim’s Cup,” which gathered participants from all over the country and neighboring foreign states. She shared her achievements in sports and the support she receives from the university.
Ramina Toktarbekova began practicing Japanese martial arts at an early age and has dedicated most of her life to this sport. Today, her journey in karate spans 11 years!
During this time, she has managed to achieve many impressive results — she already holds a black belt (1st dan) and is a Candidate for Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Sokyokushinkai Kan Karate. She is a two-time champion of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a two-time prizewinner of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a champion and prizewinner of international competitions, as well as a laureate of the “Athlete of the Year” award.
Her coach is Nikolay Vladimirov, who, in addition to training athletes, is also the director of the East Kazakhstan branch of Sokyokushinkai Kan Karate and holds a black belt (4th dan); he is a Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Such mentors lead by example and guide their students forward.
Despite intensive training and participation in competitions, Ramina successfully studies at the university. She emphasizes that the administration of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University provides comprehensive support to athletes: the university accommodates their training and competition schedules and creates conditions for combining sports with academic studies.
Ahead of her lies an ambitious goal — the most important and large-scale competition for her is the World Championship, which will take place in 2027 in the Land of the Rising Sun, in the city of Shizuoka. Preparation has already begun and includes participation in a number of international tournaments abroad.
Amanzholov University is proud of its student athletes and always supports their aspiration for victory. The path to the podium is not easy, and it is important to have those who believe in you and help you move forward.
