ANTHEM, VICTORY, UNIVERSITY
A student of S. Amanzholov EKU told about the historic triumph of his team at the World Championship.
At the end of last year, Kazakhstanis were delighted with the news about the bright success of the youth national team of Kazakhstan (under 20 years old) in ice hockey at the World Championship in Hungary. This championship was also memorable for the fact that Kazakhstani hockey players sang the national anthem without a melody. Then they won a willful victory over the team of Denmark with a score of 3:2. After the game the organizers of the World Cup should have included the national anthem of Kazakhstan, but for some reason they did not do it. But young athletes were not confused and sang the anthem themselves. The team of Kazakhstan took the first place at this tournament. Thanks to this victory, our guys got into the Elite Division. There they will play with the strongest teams in the world.
As part of the youth national team of the country plays a student of the 2nd year of the educational program “Physical Education and Sports” Higher School of Pedagogy Higher School of Pedagogy Higher School of Pedagogy VKU named after S. Amanzholov Artem Shestakov.
Now the game season is in full swing. Despite his busy schedule, he came to Ust-Kamenogorsk to see family, friends and pass the session.
According to Gulnara Kulenova, Dean of the Higher School of Pedagogy, Artyom successfully passed his exams and immediately flew to Ufa for the next competition. At the same time, he takes his studies very seriously and is one of the most disciplined students.
Artem Shestakov, like many effective hockey players of Kazakhstan, began his sports career in Torpedo Ust-Kamenogorsk. Then at the age of 16 he moved to Astana, played for the team Barys-2004.
According to Artyom Shestakov, victory in this championship was very necessary for them, so they fought to the end. In the end, the youthful maximalism and will to win bore fruit.
– It’s hard to mention the most difficult game, they were not all easy,” he recalls. – We only lost the last game, but we remained in 1st place in terms of points. As for the story with our anthem – the organizers included some unclear remix of the anthem of Kazakhstan, we did not like it, and we sang the anthem without music.
According to Artyom Shestakov, it is not easy to combine active professional sports activity and study, but it is quite possible. Teachers help athletes, they give them assignments remotely, they do everything in time.
– I can’t say it’s difficult, but it’s not easy at times. If you want to, you can combine everything,” states the champion.
At present, Artyom Shestakov and his team “Snow Leopards” are training hard, holding intermediate matches to please their fellow countrymen with new victories in the near future.
