The Higher School of Pedagogy is:
- professionalism, high scientific potential of teachers, their dedication and pedagogical optimism;
- enthusiasm, restlessness, creativity, energy and enthusiasm of students;
- joint educational, scientific, socially-oriented and cultural and leisure activities of teachers and students;
- higher school open to society: international projects and foreign internships, interaction and cooperation with universities of the country and various institutions, organizations and enterprises of East Kazakhstan region.
The history of the Higher School of Pedagogy begins with the creation of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Pedagogical Institute.
- In 1958, the faculty for the training of primary school teachers was established, the dean of which was appointed Korotkikh L.A. Later, the duties of the dean of the faculty were performed by Sorokin I.A., Ualiyev Yu.K., Dementyev M.G., Mostovenko G.I., Gurnova A.P.
- 1967 - the Department of Physical Education was reorganized into the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the Ust-Kamenogorsk Pedagogical Institute. The first dean of the faculty is Alexey Nikolaevich Trunov.
- In 1991, a psychological and pedagogical department was established in the East Kazakhstan State University established on the basis of the UKPI, the head of which from the moment of its inception to 1996 was Ph.D., associate professor Karamuratova R.B. Under the leadership of Raisa Bashibayevna, business relations with institutions and organizations of the city are established for the first time, contracts with practice bases are signed, and the first scientific and practical research is carried out at city enterprises.
- In 1996-2000, the dean of the Psychological and Pedagogical Faculty is Ph.D., Associate Professor Uruzbayeva G.T., in 2000-2001 - Ph.D. Matskevich I.K., in 2001-2004 - Ph.D. Zhanbosinova A.S., in 2004-2011 Ph.D., Professor Apyshev O.D. From January 2012 to October 2013, the faculty was headed by Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Rovnyakova I.V., from October 2013 to May 2014 - Ph.D., Akhmadiyeva Zh.K., and from May 2014 to June 2015 - Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Nagymzhanova K.M.
- In 2005, the Faculty of Culture and Sports was established, the dean of which was Ph.D. Sarmuldinov Rizabek Barievich. Since May 2014, she has been appointed Dean of FCiS Ph.D. Kulenova Gulnara Borisovna.
- In June 2015, as a result of the reorganization of two faculties: the Faculty of Psychology, Pedagogy and the Faculty of Culture and Sports, the Faculty of Psychology, Pedagogy and Culture was established, the dean of which became Ph.D. Kulenova G.B.
- In November 2021, the Faculty of Psychology, Pedagogy and Culture was transformed into the Higher School of Pedagogy.
