Orazalin Slyambek Kalibekuly

Full biography
Born on January 6, 1952. Until 1989 the family lived in Semipalatinsk, moving to Ust-Kamenogorsk that same year.
Orazalin Slyambek Kalibekovich graduated from the Semipalatinsk Pedagogical Institute in 1975. He has worked as a teacher in schools and universities of Semey and the East Kazakhstan region. He is the author of more than one hundred and twenty scientific articles, two monographs, and study guides for students.
In 2001 he defended his candidate dissertation at the Akhmet Baitursynov Scientific Institute of Linguistics on "Phonetic and Philological Foundations of the Synthesis of the Kazakh Language and Computer Software."
In 2003–2004 he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (HAC). Since 2011 he has been a professor of the university.
From 2003 to 2016 he served as head of department, dean of the faculty, and vice-rector of the university, and to this day continues to make a major contribution to its development. Since 2019 he has served as advisor to the rector.
The Higher School of Humanities is one of the key structural divisions of our university, making a vital contribution to its academic and scientific progress. Currently, the Higher School trains qualified specialists across degree programs spanning Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral levels. The faculty consists of main degree-granting departments: the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation Studies, the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism, and the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Socio-Humanitarian Sciences. The departments are located in academic buildings, with specialized research laboratories concentrated in a separate campus building.
The faculty boasts strong academic credentials, employing highly qualified faculty members, including Doctors of Sciences (Professors), Candidates of Sciences (Associate Professors), and PhD holders. Thanks to this systematic work, student academic quality has increased significantly compared to the previous academic year.
The Higher School of Humanities possesses a robust scientific infrastructure. It hosts the Abai Research Institute, the "Altaitanu" Research Center, the B. Mamraev Library, and the Historical Museum, which preserves the university's history and scholarly heritage. Students benefit from computer and multimedia classrooms, the S. Igibaev Laboratory, named classrooms (Abai, K. Bitibaeva, S. Amanzholov, Z. Akhmetov, Zh. Akhmerov), and specialized language and diplomacy classrooms (including the Center of Russian Science and Culture, International Relations and Diplomacy, Local History, and Turkish and Korean language rooms).
The academic mobility program is exceptionally active. Students studied at prestigious international and national universities. To support academic achievement, students currently receive the Rector's Scholarship, named scholarships, or external awards. The Dean's Office maintains close communication with parents through regular online/offline meetings and collaborates extensively with regional secondary schools.
Student engagement and self-governance thrive through the active work of the Starostat (Council of Class Representatives) and the Student Parliament, both represented on the Faculty Council. Student leaders organize orientation programs for first-year students, university-wide celebrations, and cultural showcases. A major highlight of this creative support is the publication of several student books by the university's "Berel" Publishing House, including "Zhastar Uni" (Voice of Youth), the young translators' collection "Zhas Tarzhiman", "Kozimnin Karasy" (dedicated to Abai), and "Otyrar Sazy" (dedicated to the poet Mukhtar Shakhanov).
