Full biography

Assel Anuarbekovna Apysheva, born in 1976, is a Candidate of Economic Sciences and Associate Professor of the Department of Finance and Accounting at S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. In 1998 she graduated from East Kazakhstan State University with a degree in "Economics and Management." In 2010 she defended her candidate dissertation in specialty "08.00.05 – Economics and Management of the National Economy (by industries and fields of activity)" on the topic "Improving Marketing in the Activities of Tourism Firms (Using the Example of Tourism Firms in East Kazakhstan Region)." Since 2002 to the present she has worked at NAO "S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University." In 2010 she was appointed Associate Professor of the Department of Management and Marketing at S. Amanzholov EKSU. Her total record of academic and teaching service is 25 years, including 23 years at institutions of higher education.

Over the course of her work at the university, A.A. Apysheva has developed into an experienced specialist and educator known for her high sense of purpose, integrity, discipline, exacting standards, and sense of responsibility.

Drawing on broad life and professional experience and a high level of self-education and self-development, Assel Anuarbekovna uses active and interactive teaching formats combined with extracurricular work in the educational process to build and develop students' general and professional competencies.

Assel Anuarbekovna actively involves students in research work. Under her supervision, more than 40 students have won competitions for research and creative work in their field of study, as confirmed by copies of diplomas, certificates, and letters of appreciation addressed to their academic supervisor.

Assel Anuarbekovna carries out extensive methodological work and applies the results of her own research in the educational process.

A.A. Apysheva regularly presents scientific papers at international scientific-practical conferences in both near and far-abroad countries (symposiums, seminars) and at department meetings.

The subject matter of her research and instructional-methodological work corresponds to the department's profile and her declared academic specialty. The unity of her scholarly and pedagogical work is reflected in her list of published academic and scientific works and in the programs of the conferences in which she has taken part.

Over the course of her academic and teaching career, A.A. Apysheva has authored more than 155 published scientific works and academic publications. Every year she prepares students for national and regional olympiads in accounting and audit, who go on to take 1st–2nd places.

Over the past 5 years she has published more than 82 scientific and methodological works, including 5 articles in publications indexed in the Scopus (Web of Science) database; 38 in the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science (KKSON) list; an h-index of 3; 8 monographs; and 29 instructional-methodological and study guides, among others.

A.A. Apysheva takes an active part in the work of councils, accreditation commissions, committees, and working groups, including as a member of a working group at the national level. She is known for her integrity, professional competence, communication skills, high level of professionalism, and tolerance.

The Higher School of Business and Law holds one of the leading positions in the region and in Kazakhstan for training specialists in law and economics. The Higher School of Business and Law at S. Amanzholov VKU provides its graduates not only with specialized training but also with a broad humanitarian education that reflects the spirit of the times, and serves as a major research center for the region and the Republic. The School's faculty carefully preserves its history while striving to keep the best of it, and at the same time keeps pace with the new era, responding actively to the needs of modern society.

At the present stage, the Higher School of Business and Law is the leading supplier of specialists in economics and law. The School's foremost task is the high-quality training of specialists who will be in demand in today's labor market.

An experienced faculty, together with the School's scientific and innovative activity aimed at developing fundamental and applied research, meeting the needs of modern industry and society, and maintaining a close link between research, the educational process, and industry, ensures a high standard of training for specialists.

Over more than 30 years of the School's existence, dozens of monographs, thousands of scientific articles, and methodological works on the most pressing issues in economics have been published. Our researchers and graduate students take part in a range of scientific conferences both in Kazakhstan and abroad and are active participants in the G-Global communication platform.

The Higher School has become an essential part of the education system today, reaching an ever-larger share of young people, with considerable attention devoted to the development of student research. Every year our students take prize places in olympiads and competitions at the national and international level. To support young people in realizing their creative and scientific potential, the School maintains an active Student Scientific Society.
