ENGLISH LANGUAGE OLYMPIAD

A regional Olympiad in English among schoolchildren was held at the university. About 100 students from regional schools took part in the two-stage competition. Young foreign language experts tested themselves in theory and practice – public speaking on a given topic.

According to the results of the commission, the grand prize was won by Damilya Temirkhanova, a pupil of Oralkhan Bokey Lyceum No. 44. The first place went to Aisul Nugiman, Valeria Demchenko and Bakhtiyar Aubakirov. The second place prize was won by pupils Aym Kalieva, Olesya Abrosimova and Kseniya Zadorozhnaya. The third place – Janel Amangeldikyzy, Sofya Zapryagaeva, Amir Mukashev.

It should be noted that within the framework of the Olympiad a seminar for teachers of English language of schools of the region was held.

The theme of the seminar was “Content-language integrated teaching a second foreign language at a secondary school”. The event was organized by teachers of the Department of Foreign Languages and Translation.

The seminar participants discussed the methodology of content-language integrated teaching of a second foreign language at a secondary school.
