A ROUND TABLE DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF THE CONSTITUTION OF RK WAS HELD IN THE UNIVERSITY
The annual round table dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the theme “Constitutional modernization of statehood at the present stage: Kazakhstan and foreign countries” was held in EKU named after S. Amanzholov.
Invited participants of the round table were deputy chairman of the Constitutional Court of RK Nurmukhanov B.M., chairman of the regional court Komirshinov M.G., head of the Department of the Agency of RK on counteraction to corruption on EKR Shakenov D.V., head of the Police Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city Mula A.V., head of the group on personnel work Aleksandrov V.A., deputy head of the Department of Justice of VKO Amirkhanov A.K., Acting Head of DCPSISU of GP RK on EKR Koryachentseva O.N. The event was also attended by faculty members, masters and students of the Department of Jurisprudence.
– The purpose of the event – to analyze the socio-cultural and political and legal essence of the Constitution, to determine the role of the Constitutional Court, judicial and law enforcement bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, – says the head of the Department of Jurisprudence Zhanna Sadykanova.
Rector of the university Mukhtar Tolegen noted that today Kazakhstan is at the stage of constitutional modernization. According to him, it is a process of overcoming social and legal contradictions on the basis of preserving stability in society.
– This is the right and promising path for our country. I hope that the questions touched upon in the framework of the round table will be the subject of further research of both scientists and our students, undergraduates, as an actual direction of development of the theory and practice of modern constitutionalism. I express my appreciation and gratitude to everyone for participation in the round table! I congratulate everyone on the approaching Constitution Day, – concluded Mukhtar Tolegen.
Let’s remind, on June 5, 2022 in Kazakhstan the republican referendum on amendments to the Constitution was held. There was only one question on the ballot: “Do you accept the amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, set out in the draft law “On introducing amendments and additions to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan”?
The turnout for the referendum amounted to 68.05 percent (7,985,769 people). Of these, 77.18 percent of citizens (6,163,516 people) voted in favor of the amendments to the Constitution.
The amendments to the Constitution of Kazakhstan adopted at the referendum came into force on June 8.
