JUDGES OF THE SPECIALIZED INTERDISTRICT COURT VISITED A UNIVERSITY

An explanatory and informative meeting for students of the educational program “Jurisprudence” was held at the University. The guests of the university were the judge of the specialized inter-district criminal court of East Kazakhstan region Rinat Akpar, the judge of the specialized inter-district juvenile court of East Kazakhstan region Anna Akpar and the head of the office of the specialized inter-district criminal court of East Kazakhstan region Anar Kaisanova. The meeting was initiated by Marianna Dyachuk, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Jurisprudence.

Those present discussed the topic of jury trial. According to Rinat Akpar, at the moment criminal cases are considered with one judge and ten jurors. The latter observe the process and can ask questions through the presiding officer.

It should be noted that the court with the jury considers the guilt or innocence of the accused and the imposition of punishment when a person is found guilty. During the meeting, the students showed keen interest, competently discussing among themselves.
