REPORTING MEETING FOR THE 2022-2023 ACADEMIC YEAR
A reporting meeting with staff and teachers was held at the S. Amanzholov EKU, during which the rector of the university Mukhtar Tolegen told about the results of the 2022-2023 academic year.
So, today VKU is included in a major international QS ranking with 401-450 place among universities in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. In September of this year, the university entered the major world ranking of universities – Times Higher Education 2024. These achievements demonstrate painstaking work on the implementation of a large-scale strategy.
Special attention in the course of the report is paid to international activities. Today, the university cooperates with 200 foreign partner universities, implements 14 programs of double-degree education and academic mobility.
– We have signed an agreement with the University of Bristol to open a branch of the Higher School of Legal and Pedagogical Sciences.
In October, it is planned to create an Italian Cultural Center at the University of Genoa. We will also open a Chinese medicine center on the basis of the DANA BALA Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education in cooperation with Hunan University of Traditional Medicine. And this is just the beginning,” said Rector Mukhtar Tolegen.
In 2022, the university won funding for research projects in the amount of 700 million tenge. In 2023, projects worth 800 million tenge were won. This year, the university ranked 37th among the universities of Kazakhstan in the National Hirsch Index ranking.
Educational work is carefully organized in the EKU. Social benefits, tuition discounts, scholarships for talented students, comfortable conditions created enable students to reach heights in academic, scientific and social fields.
– If we talk about financial and economic activities, then in 2022-2023, all current repairs were carried out. The university has no salary arrears, scholarships, tax obligations and utilities,” Mr. Tolegen announced.
It should be noted that today a new Program for the development of the university for 2023-2029 has been developed.
