Sarsen Amanzholov VCU held a meeting of teachers and students of the university with representatives of the Institute of Smart Systems and Artificial Intelligence (ISSAI) of Nazarbayev University, which is known for its interdisciplinary research in the field of machine intelligence to solve real problems of industry and society.

ISSAI representatives familiarized the meeting participants with current projects in the field of artificial intelligence and data science.

ISSAI data analyst Aknur Karabay presented the institute’s research work, which includes artificial intelligence technologies for the Kazakh language, computer vision, medical artificial intelligence and augmented reality.

Yerbol Absalyamov, technical coordinator of the project, demonstrated the technology “tensegrity-robots”, which is adaptable and can be used for a range of applications, including reconnaissance, inspection and monitoring. Also, the Institute’s project “Augmented reality-based human memory enhancement using artificial intelligence” was presented and it was noted that this research opens the way to the development of AR-based assistive technologies for people with memory impairments (e.g. Alzheimer’s disease).

The topic of the meeting aroused great interest among the meeting participants.

The parties discussed the possibilities of further cooperation and internship of university students on the basis of ISSAI.

The participants of the meeting noted that the cooperation is in line with the common vision of the Institute and the University, aimed at promoting progress in AI research and facilitating the practical implementation of scientific developments.
