STUDENT SPORT PRIORITIES

As you know, on the instructions of the Head of State, the Comprehensive Plan for the development of physical culture and mass sports for 2020-2025 was adopted. Kasym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the number of people systematically engaged in sports and physical culture has reached about 6 million people. Of them 561 thousand teenagers and children.

The rector of S. Amanzholov University of Management and Sport Mukhtar Tolegen told about the development of student sports in East Kazakhstan Oblast. According to him, for the purpose of physical education, the university sports club together with the Department of Culture, Sports and Primary Military Training organize and conduct various sporting events.

Thus, in 2023 and 2024 military-sports event “Rescuer”, spartakiade for faculty and staff of the university named after S. Amanzholov, athletic cross-country race “Hello, university! “, track and field race on the mountain Kazakhstan to the Day of the Republic, city volleyball tournament among universities and colleges for the Cup of the Rector of ECU, chess championship among students, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of S. Amanzholov, a tournament among teachers of schools of East Kazakhstan region for the Cup of the Rector of ECU volleyball and other competitions.

– Athletes of the Higher School of Pedagogy are traditionally leaders of the national teams of EKU in many sports. Students of Physical Education and Sports took part in the Summer Universiade in Aktau, – said the head of the university. – Our young people take an active part in international and national tournaments. Among them there are representatives of volleyball teams of the National League of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Students of S. Amanzholov University became winners of republican, Asian and world championships in ice hockey, karate, kickboxing, kettlebell lifting, rowing slalom, kazaksha kures and other sports. They became prize-winners of the Asian Paralympic Games in swimming.

– Our young athletes do not intend to stop at the achieved results and are ready to improve their achievements, – concluded Mukhtar Tolegen.
