NATIONAL GAMES COMPETITIONS WERE HELD AT EKU

EKU hosted sports competitions “Merekelik Kulttyk Oyyndar” among the students of the university, timed to the Day of National Sports in the framework of Nauryz meiramy celebration. The organizers of the event were faculty and students of the Department of Pedagogical Education and Management.

Traditionally, the games started with a festive concert and shashu.

The participants contested the championship in five games. They were “Oramal tastamak”, “Bes tas”, “Asyk atu”, “Oyin lәңgi” and “Arkan tartys”.

– I took part in the tug-of-war games,” said first-year student Ayauly Kazimova. – Unfortunately our team lost, we lacked just a little bit to beat our opponents. But I am not upset, because today is a big holiday.

As the curator of the first year Gulmira Makshieva noted, the purpose of the event is to popularize a healthy lifestyle among student youth, foster patriotism, interest in sports and national games, identify the best sports groups.

All winners and participants of the games received prizes from the organizers. There were also festive treats and gifts for all guests of the event.
