HUNGARIAN EMBASSY DELEGATION MEETS WITH THE BERKUTCHI FAMILY FROM BOSANBAI VILLAGE

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Kazakhstan Rona Otto Ivan, Consul of the Embassy of Hungary in Kazakhstan Denge Aniko and Mr. Ambassador’s wife Rona Natalia visited hereditary berkutchi from the village of Bozanbai in Ulan district.

The event was organized by representatives of EKR Akimat and Amanzholov University.

The family of a famous hunter, master of national crafts Marks Najitban welcomed the guests. They demonstrated Kazakh traditions, showed the ancient art of berkutchi, set a generous dastarkhan of national dishes. Also representatives of the Hungarian Embassy met with the world famous berkutchi girl Aisholpan Nurgaiypkyzyzy. Her family moved to her historical homeland from Mongolia and also lives in the village of Bozanbai.

– This is the first time I am among the Berkutchi, these are incredible traditions, the history of nomadic people, I am simply delighted,” shared Rona Otto Ivan’s impressions. – I believe that I was very lucky to see the ancient customs of the Kazakh people, which have been preserved and survived to this day.

The guests tried on bialai, (berkutchi handles), held a golden eagle weighing about seven kilograms on their hands and shot from a bow. Members of the Najitban family talked about their pets, the peculiarities of hunting with birds of prey and tazy.
