EKU STUDENT BECAME THE ASIAN CHAMPION IN ARMWRESTLING

First year student of Physical Education and Sports EKU S. Amanzholov Zhalgas Tөrehanov took first place at the Asian Championship in armwrestling among young men.

The competition was held in the capital of Uzbekistan city of Tashkent.

Student of the university was the first in the weight category up to 85 kg.

– During three months I was preparing for these competitions thoroughly, with great persistence. This continental championship is a great experience for me. I am very happy that I became the winner, – said Zhalgas Tөrehanov.

It should be noted that armwrestling is a special sport in which participants compete, standing on both sides of a special table, in accordance with the approved international rules. This sport first appeared in the city of Petaluma, (California, USA) in 1952. Now this sport is very popular. Armwrestling competitions are held among students, schoolchildren, adults and even the elderly.
