ABAY’S LEGACY: SCIENTIFIC AND METHODOLOGICAL SEMINAR ON THE POET’S BIRTHDAY WAS HELD

The regional scientific and methodological seminar “Abay’s Legacy – the peak of human value” was held in Amanzholov University dedicated to the birthday of the great Kazakh poet, philosopher, translator, composer, public figure Abay Kunanbayev. The cultural event was organized by the research institute “Abaytanu”. The seminar was attended by historians, scientists, teachers and pedagogues, regional media, master’s students and university students.

Zhanneta Kalimoldina, Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work of Amanzholov University noted that Abay is an outstanding personality, the reverence to which should be unconditional among the older and younger generations. For this reason it is especially important to remember the great figure and regularly organize such meetings.

During the seminar the listeners were presented a thematic video and scientific reports on teaching Abay’s works, his heritage and national education.

-Abay’s works consist of reflections on the fate of the Kazakh people, its past, present and future. These teachings and wise inferences we should not only remember, but also apply in everyday life, – summarized the director of Research Institute “Abaytanu” Aizhan Kartaeva.

Let’s remind, on the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan August 10 is officially approved as “Abay Day”.
