HUNGARIAN CITIZENS ARRIVED AT THE UNIVERSITY TO STUDY THE KAZAKH LANGUAGE

Erika Oner and Sándor Kolmanko, a teacher and a third-year student of Szeged University, arrived at the university as part of the academic mobility programme. Hungarian citizens studying Turkology and Turkic languages will stay in Kazakhstan for one academic year. During this time the guests plan to study the Kazakh language, culture, traditions and history of the country.

-I study and teach Kazakh at Szeged University, but I am constantly trying to improve my skills. Therefore, the main purpose of my arrival is to dive more deeply into the grammar of the Kazakh language. I am sure that I will be able to improve myself among native speakers,’ said graduate student Erika Oner.

She said she chose S. Amanzholov University because it has been a partner of Szeged University for many years and is among the best educational institutions in the country.

I am just starting to get acquainted with your university, but I already like the spacious and well-equipped classrooms, the convenient location of the academic buildings and friendly students. This term I plan to speak and write Kazakh better. I think my visit to Kazakhstan will be a good experience for me in the future, because I definitely want to connect my life with Turkology,’ the young Hungarian shared his plans.

Future Turkologist Sándor also told about the list of obligatory things to do in Kazakhstan.

-I must try Kazakh national cuisine. I am interested in beshbarmak and kurt. I noticed the variety of your dishes. And, by the way, the beauty of the girls here,’ Shandor added with a smile.

We would like to remind you that EKU co-operates with educational institutions from more than 30 countries of the world. Four agreements have been concluded with Hungarian universities in particular.
