PERSPECTIVES FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF NUCLEAR ENERGY

In the S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University,
scientists and teachers, as well as doctoral and master’s students discussed the prospects of nuclear power development.
In the course of the round table were considered
key issues related to the development of nuclear power in the country and in general
construction of nuclear power plants.

In their speeches, the participants emphasised that nuclear energy remains an important element of energy security.
nuclear power remains an important element of energy security in many countries,
providing stable and environmentally friendly electricity production.

– Kazakhstan ranks second in the world in terms of uranium reserves.
At present, solar and water energy is being used, and the country,
maximises the use of natural resources and makes a significant contribution to the social development of the country.
We scientifically explained to the round table participants the advantages of building a nuclear power plant.
,said Kydirmolla Akatan, head of the National Scientific Laboratory of Collective Use at the S. Amanzholov University.

– Today we have analysed current trends in the development of nuclear energy in the international arena.
We also discussed the role
of nuclear energy in ensuring energy security and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Of course, we can’t say that they’re completely safe,
because it’s a technical factor. However, all subsequent
variants of nuclear power plants are safer than the previous ones, said
Nurbol Berdimuratov, a junior researcher at the Surface Engineering Research Centre ‘Surface Engineering and Tribology’
S. Amanzholov EKU.

The second important issue discussed at the round table was personnel training in the nuclear
nuclear industry. Today, six universities of the country, including Amanzholov University, are facing an important task – to ensure safety and security of the nuclear industry
of nuclear power plants. Specialists working at nuclear power plants must have a high level of professionalism, good technical education and experience.

nuclear power engineering.

– S. Amanzholov EKU trains specialists in the following educational programmes
programmes ‘Nuclear Physics’, ‘Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Power Engineering’. Our
graduates are employed in the largest enterprises of the region, such as UMP JSC,
‘Titanium-Magnesium Combine, as well as the National Nuclear Centre in the city of Kurchatov.
An important element in personnel training is training in safety and radiation protection.
Specialists working at nuclear
power plants must have a good understanding of safety measures and regulations, as well as the proper handling of radioactive material.

According to the teachers of the physics department, training
for work at nuclear power plants is a complex and multi-stage process that requires a serious approach and attention to detail.
On the professionalism of
specialists depends on the safety of NPP operation and efficiency of electricity production.
The round table was an important step in advancing the discussion on the prospects of nuclear power and its role in the nuclear industry.
prospects of nuclear power and its role in the future of the global energy system.
system. Participants emphasised the importance of joint efforts to ensure a sustainable and secure energy future.
