125TH ANNIVERSARY OF KANYSH SATPAYEV: INSPIRATION FOR STUDENTS

The event ‘Kanysh Satpayev – Kazakh outstanding first academician, world-known scientist’ in honour of Kanysh Satpayev’s 125th anniversary was held at the S. Amanzholov University with the participation of teachers and students of the third year of the educational programmes ‘Geography’ and ‘Geography-History’.

During the event the works and researches of K. Satpayev in the field of geology and geography were presented and discussed. The main goal is not only to immortalise the memory of the outstanding scientist, but also to familiarise students with his scientific achievements, as well as to inspire young people for further research in the field of geology.

Let us remind that the main contribution of Kanysh Satpayev to the development of Kazakhstan and its people is his significant contribution to the development of geological research. Under his direct leadership in the country began work on the extraction of large deposits of copper and manganese. Also under the leadership of K. Satpayev, systematic research work was carried out in Central and Eastern Kazakhstan using modern technical means by a scientific group of Kazakh geologists.
