INNOVATIONS IN THE FIELD OF MATERIALS SCIENCE, IT AND ENERGY WERE PRESENTED TO THE MINISTER OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF RK
Shygys Bastau Technopark was established on the basis of the university to develop science in the region. The main activity of the facility is aimed at supporting scientific commercialised and startup projects.
Currently, several projects are being implemented on the basis of the technopark: ‘Commercialisation of technology for the production of composite filtering materials for the purification of water bodies’, “Competence Centre for psychological and pedagogical training and methodological and technological support for children with special educational needs” with the support of JSC “Science Foundation”, as well as a grant-funded project “Monitoring and forecasting of the water regime of agrocenoses in Kazakhstan under the conditions of global climate change”.
Within the framework of these projects, scientists and developers of the university are engaged in research, analysis, forecasting and even production. Specialised furniture for children with special educational needs is actively produced within the Technopark. In particular, a desk and a verticaliser chair, a speech therapy table, a verticaliser bed and others.
-The opening of the technopark on the basis of S. Amanzholov University is one of the sites, so to say, of value-added chains. This year the university received three billion tenge for scientific grants and research, which is several times more than the funding of three years ago, when it was 110 million tenge. This support gives us the opportunity to become leaders in scientific and technological development, to actively implement innovations and create startups, as well as to develop co-operation with industry and government agencies. – Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek noted.
Today, the Science Centre actively cooperates with foreign partner universities: India, Malaysia, Turkey and Poland. Within the framework of studying the best practices of partner universities, they prepare joint scientific collaborations, which gives scientists the opportunity to create consortia and apply for grant funding competitions of the Science Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
– Our mission is to promote the economic and scientific growth of our region. The technopark includes digital technology and modelling laboratories and a research and production laboratory for innovative technologies,’ said Almasbek Maulit, deputy head of the Shygys Bastau Technopark.
It is noteworthy that the Shygys Bastau Technopark is also a kind of practical base for students. Active students have the opportunity to create a startup project, receive professional advice from mentors, find partners for the implementation of the development and participate in the process of production of their scientific products.
