BIOLOGY PROFESSOR TAKES A WELL-DESERVED RETIREMENT

Today the ‘Evening of gratitude and science for Professor Konstantin Pavlovich Prokopov’ took place. The aim of the evening was to send Konstantin Prokopov, an honest, professional and distinguished scientist with human qualities, to a well-deserved rest after his fruitful work at the department.

The evening was attended by the teachers of the Department of Biology, students and the Rector of East Kazakhstan University Mukhtar Tolegen. A small exhibition of Konstantin Prokopov’s photos made during the years of his labour activity was presented.

Konstantin Prokopov, Professor of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, has published about 370 scientific works. His works in scientific, scientific-cognitive, artistic and literary styles contributed to the development of biological science in the region.

-Konstantin Pavlovich Prokopov is one of the masterpieces of science of the East. Thanks to his love for nature he photographed the animal world, the beauty of nature and left it on the pages of history. I thank you for your worthy work within the walls of the university, – said Rector of East Kazakhstan University Mukhtar Tolegen.

Gulzhan Abylkasova, a student of the teacher, now an associate professor of the Department of Chemical Sciences, recalled the years of teaching her teacher and shared warm memories. Now students of the professor work not only in Ust-Kamenogorsk, but also in the Republic and abroad.

-Konstantin Prokopov had different methods of conducting classes and high requirements to students. The talented teacher Konstantin Prokopov made invaluable contribution to the development of higher science. He studied the biology of our region with great interest and taught his students,’ said Gulzhan Abylkasova.

At the end of the event according to Kazakh traditions, the teachers of the biology department put a chapan on honoured scientist Konstantin Prokopov.

The culprit of the event thanked the faculty of the Department of Biology and the leadership of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University for creating conditions for leaving a trace on the path to science.
