“SERPIN” REGIONAL PROJECT OFFICE PRESENTED TO THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duisenova visited the S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University in order to familiarize with the activities of a large regional university.
The working trip began with a visit to the project office “Serpin”, which has been functioning on the basis of the educational building No. 1 of East Kazakhstan University since 2014. About 1200 Serpin students have studied here during the jubilee 10 years of the program implementation, who have successfully found jobs, continued their education or created families. These are the leading indicators in EKR among higher education institutions. To date, 444 students from the southern regions of the country are studying at the alma mater.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister noted that the program faces the problem of lack of precise and targeted work with the needs of employers. Despite the fact that the contingent of young people is defined, it is not always clear what specific specialists are required in different areas.
-To solve this problem, the Republican Project Office under the Ministry of Science and Higher Education and regional offices have been created, which will interact with employers, employment centers, universities and colleges to clarify the needs in personnel, – said Tamara Duisenova.
It is noteworthy that the specialists of the “Serpin” project office are students who once came under the same program. Now these young people with great enthusiasm invite new streams of students to their native alma mater.
-We are engaged in effective coordination, large-scale career guidance, organization of social support, labor market analysis, monitoring of employment and quality of life of Serpin graduates. We also provide daily counseling to Serpin residents through our hotline number. Life in the project office is really busy,” said Adlet Karibay.
-Throughout their training, we guide the students to further work in our region,” said Leyla Bayzhumanova, head of the project office. – We explain what benefits are available to them, where there are vacancies and prospects.
In addition, Deputy Prime Minister met with students of graduating courses of the state program, where the issues of employment, working off state grants and further plans of 60 young people were touched upon. Tamara Duisenova reminded the graduates that the main goal of the program is not only training, but also employment. The mission of young people from South Kazakhstan region is to fill the deficit in personnel in the areas where there is such a problem.
-I will soon become a certified math teacher. After that I plan to enter a master’s program at the same university in order to be more in demand during the hiring process. In general, I do not regret at all that I became a participant of “Serpin”. Here I got not only knowledge, but also interesting experience of life, – shared a student of East Kazakhstan University Ali Zhylkashinov.
It should be noted that the total percentage of employment of East Kazakhstan University Serpin students is 97%. This is one of the record indicators in the country.
