ERGOPEDAGOGUES FOR SPECIAL CHILDREN ARE BEING TRAINED IN EASTERN KAZAKHSTAN
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Tamara Duisenova within the framework of her working trip to East Kazakhstan region familiarized with the activities of a number of educational facilities in the region. One of them was the center of Continuing and Inclusive Education “Dana bala” on the basis of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, where today a lot of work is being done to introduce active inclusion in the practice of educational institutions of the region. Specialists provide consultative and informational support to colleagues, and, in addition, realize the possibilities of dual training – the center employs university students, who after graduation have the skills to work with special children.
It is noteworthy that the center places great emphasis on the social adaptation of children; after completing the work, they come out ready for their life in society and successfully integrate into it. As noted by Svetlana Stelmakh, Professor of the Department of Psychology and Correctional Pedagogy of East Kazakhstan University, the center is planned to become a school, where children will be treated in a comprehensive work on the scheme “education – correction – socialization”. In the future it is also planned to train parents of special children so that they could become assistants and social pedagogues. In addition, the second stream of ergopedagogues is already being trained at the university, who will guide children from a very early age.
– If we can work with a child from the very beginning, he or she will have the opportunity for successful adaptation and inclusion without the need to adjust the environment to him or her or his or her circumstances. Now we graduate fully socialized children, but the earlier such work starts, the more successful it is, – Svetlana Stelmakh emphasized.
