THE “CHEMICAL KALEIDOSCOPE” JUBILEE TOURNAMENT TOOK PLACE

Amanzholov University hosted the 15th anniversary tournament of the “Chemical Kaleidoscope-2024” for schoolchildren of the city and region. The annual subject competition is aimed at identifying young talents, career guidance and support from the alma mater. The theme of this year’s tournament was “d-elements and their most important compounds”.
The program of the event was opened by the ceremony of pronouncing the oath of chemists and singing their anthem.

During the event, the head of the center “Professional Upgrading” Zhannel Bolatova and Dean of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences Saltanat Adikanova addressed the participants of the tournament with welcoming words and wished the schoolchildren good luck in all stages of the competition. By the way, there were a lot of them: “Getting to know each other”, “Warm-up”, “Chemists-lyricists”, “Captains”, “Young Chemist”. Each task was aimed at determining theoretical and practical knowledge of chemistry. In addition, school students performed exciting experimental tasks in the laboratories of the university, demonstrated their knowledge in the quiz and talents in the “chemical” flash mob.
It is noteworthy that this year for the first time nominations “Best Photo” and “Best Publication in Social Networks” were awarded.

-All participants of the tournament prepared references to literary sources and were able to defend their opinions authoritatively. We organized a whole chemical investigation conducted by two Sherlock Holmeses and Dr. Watsons, as well as a chemical puzzle competition. We are pleased with the interest of schoolchildren in scientific activity,” said Bakyt Shaihova, Head of the Chemistry Department.

At the end of the event, teachers were awarded letters of thanks, and participants were given diplomas and valuable prizes.
According to the results of the first day of the tournament among students of schools with Russian language of education the winners were determined:
Zlata Rybnikova from the team “Golden Masters” of school-lyceum No. 11 became the best captain.
In the nomination “Chemists-lyricists” the team “Orion” from secondary school #39 won for the third year in a row. They also won in the nomination “Active fans”.
The third place prize went to the teams “Andromeda” from school-center of additional education №29 and “Neutronchiki” from secondary school №23 named after M. Shayakhmetov.
The second place was taken by the teams “Iron Titans” from secondary school #18 and “Orion” from secondary school #39.
The winner of the annual tournament “Chemical Kaleidoscope-2024” became the team “Golden Masters” of school-lyceum № 11.

According to the results of the tournament among students of schools with the state language of instruction:
Almaz Zhүnisov from school-lyceum №3 named after Sh. Ualikhanov became the winner in the “Captains” competition.
In the nomination “Young Chemist” Marzhan Baltagalieva and Nurai Duisenbek from school-center of additional education № 48 won.
In the nomination “Chemists-lyricists” the team “Metal-mifteri” from secondary school №47 won. In the nomination “Active fans” the best was the team “Zhalyn” of school-lyceum №3 named after Sh. Ualikhanov.
The third place prize was shared by the teams “Metal-mifteri” of secondary school No. 47 and “Potential” of secondary school No. 23 named after M. Shayakhmetov.
The second place was taken by the teams “Chemiyalyk Zhuldyzdar” of school No. 43 named after K. Nurgaliyev and “Atomdyk Alliance” of school-center of additional education No. 48.
The winner was the team “Zhalyn” of school-lyceum No. 3 named after Sh. Ualikhanov.
