SPORTS STARS: ALEXEY KHLYSTOV ON JAVELIN THROWING

Athletics is deservedly called the queen of sports, and one of its most spectacular directions – javelin throwing – is considered the heir to the royal throne.
Alexey Khlystov, a student of Physical Education and Sport, is a bright representative of this sport. He is a multiple winner of republican championships, silver medalist of Gusman Kosanov International Memorial, bronze medalist of Asian Open Championship and others.

-I came to this sport at the age of 15. In Ust-Kamenogorsk then there were regional competitions on track and field athletics and my school teacher of physical training Vitaly Pavlovich invited me to participate. I performed then more than well, so I immediately started training. Now, being an experienced athlete, I can say that in javelin throwing I am attracted by the combination of strength, power, speed and agility. At the same time, it is important to make everything aesthetically pleasing,” says the student.

According to him, his coach, Master of Sports of the USSR Alexander Kruglikov, helped him to stay in professional sport for a long time.

-Thanks to his coaching methods, there is always a desire not to miss training, to learn new things and improve my level. To this day it is interesting for me to work with him. We understand each other perfectly, and this is the most important thing, – says the athlete.

After regular and diligent training, Alexey held his first competition in Almaty. It was a large-scale event – the Championship of Kazakhstan.

-I approached my first start seriously. We prepared for several months and not in vain. Then I became the winner and it became the starting point in my career, – Alexey Khlystov recalls.

Any representative of big sports knows the feelings of physical and emotional fatigue, loss of motivation and even laziness. According to the East Kazakhstan University student, effective ways to combat this ailment are healthy sleep, delicious food and spending time with friends.

-Besides that, it’s important to be versatile in life. A permanent focus on only one sport can be tiring, that’s why higher education is very important to me. You can’t get anywhere without it nowadays. It is the key to stability. Lectures, classes, sessions, credits, communication with classmates are a mandatory and favorite part of my life, – says Alexey Khlystov.
