EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY PROFESSOR SPEAKS AT THE RK SENATE AND UNICEF CONFERENCE

Professor of the Department of Psychology and Correctional Pedagogy Irina Matskevich made a report at the global conference of the Senate of Kazakhstan and UNICEF, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child by Kazakhstan.
In the report on the interagency approach to accompanying children who suffered from violence East Kazakhstan University teacher noted the consequences of violence, highlighted the problems of secondary victimization during the investigation of crimes, presented a model of a friendly environment, defined the standards for conducting an investigative interview with a child and depositing his testimony.

It should be noted that the President of the country Kasym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to the protection of children’s rights, their safety and comprehensive development. Thus, with the participation of the UN in recent years, the institution of the Ombudsman for Children’s Rights has been created and is being developed, social support for families with many children from vulnerable categories has been strengthened, responsibility for violence against children has been toughened, and much more.
