EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY STUDENT BECAME THE WINNER OF THE REPUBLICAN DEBATE TOURNAMENT

Zhiger Sarsenbayev, a third-year student of State and Local Government, won the KONGRESS CUP-X Republican Debate Tournament.

The large-scale tournament, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Shakarim University, gathered 28 teams from different regions of Kazakhstan, including the cities of Pavlodar, Almaty, East Kazakhstan, Abay and Akmola regions.

Zhiger has been debating for more than three years and has proven himself as a strong debater and repeated winner of debate battles.

-Debate is not just a hobby for me, but an opportunity to develop my critical thinking and public speaking skills. This tournament was special because it brought together talented young people from different parts of the country. I am proud to represent my university at this level,” said an East Kazakhstan University student.

Debates are an effective tool for developing leadership skills, eloquence, diction, self-expression skills, and Zhiger Sarsenbayev is a vivid example of this.
