“STUDENTS AGAINST DRUGS” EVENT WAS HELD

On the basis of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University on the initiative of the Drug Crime Prevention Directorate of the East Kazakhstan Region Police Department together with the youth wing “Zhastar rukhy” a meeting “Students against drugs” was organized.

The purpose of the event was to promote a healthy lifestyle among the younger generation. During the meeting law enforcement officers explained to students the consequences of drug addiction and crime. In addition, a report on the work done for 2024 was read out, in which the participants of the youth wing of “Zhastar rukhy” took an active part. On their initiative about 1000 drug graffiti were destroyed in the region within the framework of realization of the republican action “No to drugs!”.

Deputy Head of PD of EKR Serik Manapov noted that nowadays drug addiction is an urgent and priority task, which requires regular operational and preventive measures and extended explanatory work.

– Young people should realize that they should treat their future responsibly. Today through the presented video we showed students the tragic consequences of drug addiction. I express my gratitude to the management of East Kazakhstan University for constant assistance in holding such events,” said Daulet Zhumadilov, Head of the Department for Combating Drug Crime of the Department of Internal Affairs of East Kazakhstan.

In addition, the students were told about the types of addiction, the main causes and symptoms. At the end of the event, on behalf of the Head of the Department of Internal Affairs, Major General of Police Yerlan Omarbekov, students who participated in preventive activities to combat drug-related crime were awarded.
