DEVELOPING LEGAL CULTURE: HOW EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY CELEBRATED HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held a meeting with students on the eve of Human Rights Day, which is celebrated annually on December 10 at the suggestion of the UN General Assembly. The purpose of the event was to develop legal culture among the younger generation.
The honorary guests of the meeting were lawyers, current employees and veterans of law enforcement agencies.
They told about the rules of behavior in public places, ensuring safety, traffic rules and touched upon the urgent problem of bullying.
Special attention was paid to criminal and administrative responsibility, which in Kazakhstan begins at the age of 14.

-It is important to know and remember, as bringing to criminal or administrative responsibility leaves a trace in the information systems of law enforcement agencies. Such data can be taken into account when applying for education or employment. And it can affect the future of a person, — noted the deputy head of Irtysh police department of police department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city Askhat Sybangaliev.

At the end of the meeting the students had an opportunity to ask questions to the experts. The students were interested in employment and the main problematic aspects of the profession.
