DR. GLENN AGUNG HOLE APPOINTED HONORARY PROFESSOR AT SARSEN AMANZHOLOV EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY
Dr. Glenn Agung Hole is a distinguished Norwegian academic and Associate Professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway. He is a prominent advocate of Austrian economics, emphasizing the transformative power of entrepreneurship in fostering sustainable growth. His vision places entrepreneurship at the core of an ability to innovate and compete globally.
Dr. Hole officially conferred as Honorary Professor at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University on November 28, 2024 and this prestigious honour recognizes Dr. Hole’s important work in leveraging entrepreneurship and Austrian economic principles to drive economic growth and innovation.
Dr. Hole has developed a strong connection to Kazakhstan through multiple visits, where he has served as an international election observer, academic collaborator, and delegate to major international conferences.
His deep understanding of Kazakhstan’s socio-economic landscape and his active engagement in promoting global collaboration have made him a key figure in bridging Norwegian and Kazakh academic and economic initiatives.
Reflecting on Kazakhstan’s development, Dr. Hole stated: “Kazakhstan’s ability to balance geopolitical and economic interests is an inspiring model… By prioritizing entrepreneurship and innovation, we can build robust economies capable of thriving in an interconnected, yet polarized world.”
Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University began as the Ust-Kamenogorsk Pedagogical Institute in 1952. Originally launched with three faculties, it continued to grow. The transformation into East Kazakhstan State University (EKSU) in 1991 marked a significant milestone. EKSU expanded rapidly, boasting 11 faculties, and introducing postgraduate and master’s degree programs. In 2003, the University was named after renowned Kazakh scientist-linguist Sarsen Amanzholov.
Commenting on his appointment, Dr. Hole underlined: “Kazakhstan’s focus on entrepreneurship and innovation as part of its multivector strategy offers valuable lessons for nations. I am honored to continue contributing to this inspiring vision and to collaborate on initiatives that empower entrepreneurs to drive meaningful and lasting change.”
