THE REGIONAL SUBJECT OLYMPIAD “LANGUAGE IS FRIENDSHIP” WAS HELD

The Department of Kazakh, Russian Philology and Journalism and the Career Center “Professional Upgrading” held a regional subject Olympiad among students of other nationalities in schools with non-Kazakh language of instruction.
The competition was aimed at developing a qualified polylingual personality in demand on the labor market. More than 100 students from schools in the region took part in the event. Only 26 of them made it to the final stage.

The winners were the participants who best completed the linguistic tasks based on five language skills: pronunciation, listening, writing, reading, and communication.

According to the results of the jury the first place was taken by Mavludakhon Turgunova, a 10th grade pupil of school № 24 of Ust-Kamenogorsk city. The second place was shared by Elvan Sardarov, 11th grade pupil of school № 17 named after Mukhtar Auezov, Lyashenko Alina, graduate of school-lyceum № 34, and Arina Baikova, 10th grade pupil of school № 10. The third place went to the pupils of private business school “Brig” Asanova Ekaterina, school-lyceum № 11 Klimoshenko Anna and regional school-lyceum for gifted children in the field of mathematics, physics, computer science Popova Maria.
