A MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COMMITTEE WAS HELD AT THE DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER MODELING AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held a meeting of the Academic Committee on educational programs of pedagogical direction “Mathematics-Informatics”, “Informatics (IP), ‘Informatics’, ‘STEM – education’, ‘Digital Pedagogy’ of the Department of Computer Modeling and Information Technology.

The main purpose of the meeting was to make proposals for updating the content of the catalog of elective disciplines on educational programs, taking into account the requirements of employers and the labor market.

The meeting of the committee was attended by the head and managers of educational programs under consideration, students, representatives of employers (“Daryn”, “East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development ‘Örken’, ‘Secondary Profile School №45’ of Ust-Kamenogorsk city).

The participants took joint participation in the design and development of the catalog of elective disciplines of educational programs and unanimously voted for updating the content of disciplines without including new ones. This decision was reasoned by the fact that last year more than 10% of new disciplines were included.

When actualizing the disciplines, the members of the committee considered the issue taking into account the reforms and prospects of development of the education system, professional standards, trends in the labor market, the needs of employers and educational needs of students.

On the educational programs of the department made proposals to adjust the existing disciplines. In particular, for the educational program 6В01501-“Informatics” – discipline “Expert systems and the basics of artificial intelligence”, 6В015011-Mathematics-Informatics – discipline “Artificial intelligence and digital educational technologies”, 6B015014-“Informatics”(IP) – disciplines “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence”, “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Educational Technologies”, 7M01501-“Informatics” – disciplines “Application of Neural Networks in Education”, “Machine Learning in Education”, 7M01513-“STEM-education” – disciplines “Educational Data Mining”, “Application of Neural Networks in Education”, “Artificial Intelligence in Education and Scientific Research”, “Machine Learning in Education”, 7M01507-“Digital Pedagogy (IP)” – disciplines “Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Cloud Computing (IP)“, ‘Machine Learning in Education’, 8D01501-”Informatics” – disciplines ‘Technologies of Data Mining in Education’, ‘Educational Data Mining and Educational Analytics’.

At the end of the meeting, the EP managers made adjustments to the catalog of elective disciplines in accordance with the recommendations of the academic committee meeting.
