AN INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR FOR SCHOOL AND COLLEGE TEACHERS WAS HELD

S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted an international methodological seminar for school teachers and college teachers on “Application of formative assessment technologies in mathematics and computer science lessons”, organized by the Department of Physics and Technology of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences.

The seminar was attended by 57 teachers from different regions of Kazakhstan and the city of Abakan (Russia). During the event the methods of formative assessment such as “Mutual Evaluation”, “Stars and Wishes”, “Traffic Light” and their application in practice were discussed. Teachers shared their experience on how these methods contribute to improving the quality of learning, developing students’ self-assessment skills and building individual educational trajectories.

The seminar was aimed at mastering new approaches in teaching and effective organization of assessment of students’ learning achievements. The participants exchanged opinions, new ideas and practical experience.
