SPARTAKIADE-2025: INTELLECTUAL STRUGGLE ON THE CHESSBOARD

As part of the 2025 Spartakiade, East Kazakhstan University hosted a chess competition – the oldest game, the history of which began in India. Today chess remains one of the most popular logic games in the world and a recognized intellectual sport.

The university-wide game was played between two players from different teams. Each team had two skillful and strategically prepared participants. In all, more than 10 teams participated in the competition.

-Chess requires logical thinking and the ability to make quick but balanced decisions. We are ready to show everything we are capable of and really enjoy this process,” said Zhiger Kurmet, a member of the Higher College team.

According to the results of the team game, the first place was taken by the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences, the second place – the Center of Information and Technical Support and Digitalization. The third place – Higher College.

New sports tests, such as tug-of-war, futsal and volleyball, await the participants.
