THE RK PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE WAS HEARD LIVE IN THE UNIVERSITY
In EKU named after S. Amanzholov the leadership of the university, public figures, professors and experts heard the message of the head of state Kasym-Jomart Tokayev “Economic course of Fair Kazakhstan”.
In the next Address the leader of the country dwelt on topical issues concerning the development of economy, social support and political stability in the country. Fairness should become the core of the new economic orientation.
The President noted that modern agriculture is an industry that requires advanced technologies. It is innovative approaches that will lead to the desired success. Note that the university scientists are working on a scientific project in this area. Development on the theme “Research and development of methods of support for agro-technological decision-making on the basis of precision farming technologies” is financed by the state for a total amount of more than 70 million tenge. The planned result of the scientists’ work is a stack of precision farming technologies available for use by low-budget peasant farms.
As noted by Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, at present the problem of water pollution is the most urgent. The President instructed to create a new Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, as well as to gradually introduce water-saving technologies. At the moment, employees of the National Scientific Laboratory of Collective Use, operating on the basis of Amanzholov University, are working on the development of composite materials for effective water filtration.
In addition, the university has developed a new educational program “Hydroecology, Management and Transboundary Water Security”. Graduates of this specialty will deal with water security, modernize the water consumption system through the use of new digital technologies, integrate GIS technologies and modern methods of chemical analysis.
Large-scale digitalization is also a priority in the new Address.
– You know that I pay increased attention to the issues of digitalization and introduction of innovations. We have a strategically important task to turn Kazakhstan into an IT-country. The government should make detailed proposals on this issue,” said Mr. Tokayev.
It should be noted that the STEM-center, Robolab laboratory room, the chair of computer modeling and information technologies with a rich material and technical fund are opened on the basis of EKU. Innovative educational programs “STEM” and “Computer Mechatronics” have been implemented. Students of the university actively study disciplines in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, as well as annually participate in the Hackathon forum for developers.
