Department of computer modeling and information technology

The department annually graduates graduates who are in demand and are employed in educational institutions of the city, region and republic, research institutions, design organizations, information technology departments, industrial enterprises, software engineers in the banking system in the near and far abroad.

Teachers of the department have awards and letters of thanks of various levels in the field of education. Diplomas of the Ministry were awarded to PhD Zhantasova Zh., PhD Adikanova S. Teachers of the department are winners of the Republican competition: PhD Nugumanova A. B. - "Best university teacher - 2018", PhD Zhantasova Zh. - "Best university teacher - 2019", PhD adikanova S., tlebaldinova A. S. - "Best teacher university-2020".

Zhantasova Zh.Z. completed a language internship at Barlington School (Great Britain, London, 2019), Adikanova S., Kaidarova M. - advanced training at Ibn Khaldun University of Istanbul and at the University (Nevsehir) Haji Bektash (Turkey, Istanbul, Cappadocia, 2022) under the international partner program "Integrated Approach to prepare STEM teachers" with the support of the European Union program "Erasmus+".

10 teachers and staff of the department have a CEPT certificate, 5 have IELTS certificates.

Teachers participate in scientific conferences in Kazakhstan and abroad and are active participants of the G-Global communication platform, the Google– Academy platform (Adikanova S., Bazarova M., Zhantasova Zh., Kaidarova M., Karmenova M., Kadyrova A.S., Kubentaeva S., Syzdykpaeva A.).

Teachers of the department over the past 5 years have prepared and published more than 26 scientific articles published in journals indexed by Web of Science and Scopus databases with a non-zero impact factor and h-index: S. According to the thematic plan of the university's research work, the department is developing a research topic: "Models and methods of formalization and research of engineering and the educational environment", which is aimed at ensuring the quality of education and training of IT specialists for market conditions. The department participated in the implementation of the International Project "Integrated Approach to STEM Teacher Training" (STEM), with the support of the European Union program "Erasmus+".  Universities of Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkey, Finland, Sweden took part in this project: Southern Federal University (SFU, RF), Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University (I. Kant BFU, RF), Belgorod State National Research University (BelSU, RF), L.N. Eurasian National University.Gumilyov (ENU, Republic of Kazakhstan), M.O.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University (SKSU, Republic of Kazakhstan), East Kazakhstan State University named after S.Amanzholova (EKSU, Republic of Kazakhstan), LUMA Centre Helsinki and University of Helsinki (Helsinki, Finland), Linkepinsg University (Ireland), Ibn Khaldun University of Istanbul (Turkey).

The department participates in the projects "Research within the framework of the creation of a Competence Center for psychological and pedagogical training, rehabilitation and methodological and technological support for children with special educational needs" (Adikanova S.), "High-performance cloud service for assessing the quality of atmospheric air based on fractional stochastic equations" (Malgazharov E.A.)

The department cooperates with external organizations and enterprises of the city and the region and actively participates in the training of personnel for the IT industry in the context of the tasks facing sovereign Kazakhstan. The department conducts training in information and communication technologies for students of all educational programs of the university, trains teachers in natural science subjects (6B01501 - "Informatics"; 6B01511 - "Mathematics-Informatics", 7M01501- "Informatics"; 7M01513 - "STEM education", doctorate 8D01501 – "Computer Science") and specialists in the field of "Information and communication technologies" (6B06103 - "Computer mechatronics"; 6B06102 - "Information systems", 7M06101- "Computer Science"; 7M06102 - "Information systems").

 The bachelor's degree program "6B01501 – Informatics" occupies a place in the top three of the Rating of NCE "Atameken" (2020-2022). The Master's degree program "7M01501 – Informatics" is the second place in the NAAR rating (2021, 2022).

Since 2018, a joint master's degree program 7M06101-"Informatics" has been implemented with Altai State University (AltSU) (Barnaul, Russian Federation)

, since 2020 educational programs 7M01501-"Informatics", 7M06102-"Information Systems" and 09.04.03-Applied Informatics: "Digital data analysis technologies for sustainable development of regions North and Central Asia".

 Since 2021, the educational program of the Master's degree in pedagogical direction 7M01513-"STEM education" has been opened under the partner international program "Integrated approach to STEM teacher training" with the support of the European Union program "Erasmus+".

The department is working on the implementation of elements of dual training of undergraduate students of educational programs 6B01501-"Computer Science", 6B01511 -"Mathematics-Computer Science", 6B06101-"Computer Science", 6B06103-"Computer mechatronics", 6B06102-"Information systems" together with KSU "Profile school", KGKP "Station of young technicians" Ust-Kamenogorsk, KSU "Secondary specialized school No. 45".

The department carries out constant cooperation with schools of the city and the region, annually holds competitions, regional Olympiad on the subject of "Informatics", participates as a jury in various Olympiads, project competitions, holds round tables with teachers of schools of the city and the region, participates in rating events. Teachers of the department are periodically invited as chairmen and members of the jury of various levels of Olympiads and IT competitions of scientific projects in the region.

The work on professional development of teachers of the department is systematized, regulated by the center for confirmation of qualifications of the University, MUIT, AlSU.

Within the framework of academic mobility, lectures on relevant sections of computer science were read by the Head of the Department, Professor, Doctor of Ph.D. Krak Yu. V. (Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine, 2018), Professor, Doctor of Ph.D. M. Obrabin (Altai State University, Barnaul, Russian Federation, 2018, 2023), Professor of the Institute of Electronics and Information Technologies of the Lublin Technical University (Poland) Dr.HAB.INZ Waldemar Wojcik (2018, 2021), Associate Professor E.V. Ponkina (Altai State University, Barnaul, Russian Federation, 2021, 2023).

The department has created conditions for the development of young teachers for doctoral studies. Teachers of the department Ualkhanova A.T. (2017-2020), Tukushova A., Tolykbaeva M. (2021-2023) are studying in the PhD doctoral program in OP 8D06102-"Information Systems" (D.Serikbayev EKTU), Sarbasova K., Dildebai B, Anafia P., Tleubekov N., Baltabaeva N. - PhD doctoral program in OP 8D01501- "Informatics" (VKU named after S.Amanzholov), in 2024-2025, teachers Dzhaksalykova A., Kaidarova M., Alpysova A.S. planned to continue their doctoral studies.

The involvement of students in scientific work allows them to use their creative potential to solve urgent research problems.

 November 26-27, 2022 - undergraduates Agyzam D., Amangeldin A. According to the International Project "Integrated Approach to the training of STEM Teachers", Erasmus + programs went to the Festival "STEM & Makers Fest / Expo in Cappadocia (Turkey), prepared by Haji Bektash Veli University (Nevsehir), which was attended by Turkish universities (the STEM & Maker Laboratory of Hajettepe University, Haji Bektash University Veli, the Cappadocia Technopark and the Ministry of Education), Sweden, Ireland, Finland and Kazakhstan (M.Auezov SKU, S.Amanzholov VCU).

Students Kusainov G., Bekkaliev R., 4th year of the educational program OP "6B06103 Computer mechatronics" and 4th year student OP 6B06101-"Informatics" Mukhtarov Sh. with the project "Making figurines using 3D printing technologies" in the International competition of research papers for students and students of educational institutions in the field of technical and physical and mathematical sciences, they received the 3rd place (Russia, Nizhny Novgorod, NOO "Professional Science", November 2022) and the diploma of the 2nd place in the Republican competition of the National Research Center "Ziat" (Astana, 2022, November).

Master's student of OP 7M06102-"Information Systems" Amankul A. at the International Competition "Best scientific work" in the nomination "Topical issues of modern scientific research" received the 3rd place (Russia, Moscow, April 2022). 

In the Republican competition of research works of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a student of the educational program 6B01501-"Informatics" Akhmetova N.M. received a diploma of the 1st degree (2022), a student of the educational program 6B01501-"Informatics" Kuandysh A. – a diploma of the 2nd degree (2023),

In 2023, a 3rd-year student of the educational program (OP) 6B06103 - "Computer mechatronics" Tazhibai Arai won the title at the intra-university competition "The best in the specialty". In 2022, she won the title of "Best Student of the Year" according to the results of the Republican Forum "Talented Youth of New Kazakhstan" (diploma 1st place, Astana, INITS "Bilim" November 2022).

Educational work is an important component of the educational activity of the Department of Jurisprudence and is carried out continuously both during academic work and during extracurricular time.

The main objectives of educational work:

• education of a modern citizen of Kazakhstan of high morality, spiritually developed and physically healthy, capable of professional activity and moral responsibility for decisions made;
• formation of students' moral, spiritual and cultural values, ethical norms and generally accepted rules of behavior in society;
• creation of conditions for leisure of students outside of school hours and creative self-realization of the individual.

To achieve educational goals, the solution of a whole complex of educational tasks is provided. Namely:

• maximum strengthening of the educational composition of the training session;
• organization of civil and patriotic education of students;
• scientific substantiation of modern methods, search and introduction of new technologies, types and methods of educational activity;
• study of students' problems and organization of psychological support, counseling;
• organization of work on the prevention of delinquency, drug addiction and HIV infection among students;
• conducting scientific, educational and cultural events, organizing leisure activities for students;
• formation of ecological consciousness, a system of ethical and aesthetic ideals and values;
• promotion of physical culture and healthy lifestyle;

information support for students, support and development of student mass media.

The Department of Computer Modeling and Information Technology provides an opportunity for students to spend a semester at a foreign or other university.

In the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, 9 students of the educational program (OP) of the bachelor's degree 6B01511-"Mathematics-Computer Science" within the framework of internal academic mobility attended the course "Информатиканың оқыту әдістемесі" online at the Department of "Methods of Teaching Mathematics and Computer Science" of the Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov.

In the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, 12 students of the Bachelor's degree program 6B06102-"Information Systems" within the framework of internal academic mobility left for L.N. Gumilev Eurasian State University, ATU, Turan University.

A 3rd-year student of OP 6B06102-"Information Systems" Rakhymbek Kamila studied at Adam Mishkevich University (Poland, Poznan) in the first semester of the 2022-2023 academic year under the program of external academic mobility.

Within the framework of external academic mobility on April 10-24, 2023, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of Altai State University (Barnaul, Russian Federation) Ponkina E.V. conducted a lecture session and consultations for students of bachelor's and master's degree programs in the direction of "Information and Communication Technologies"; on May 9-24, 2023, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia), N.M. Obrabin conducted overview lectures for students of bachelor's degree programs of the department; from September 30 to 5 October 2023, graduate student of the Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia) Ryabov I.Yu. held seminars and consultations for undergraduates of all OP departments.

According to the program of internal academic mobility in the second semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, senior lecturer of the department, PhD doctor Bazarova M.Zh., lecturer Dzhaksalykova A.K. conducted online classes for students of the Department of Information Systems and Informatics of the Kokshetau University named after A. Myrzakhmetov; Ph.D., associate Professor of the Department Kubentaeva S.N. conducted a course "Информатиканың оқыту әдістемесі" for students of the educational program 6B01502 "Mathematics-Computer Science" of the Department of "Methods of Teaching Mathematics and Computer Science" of the Karaganda University named after Academician E.A. Buketov.

In the same period, Professor of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Ph.D. Kosybaeva U.A. conducted classes in the same scientific direction and educational program 6B01511-"Mathematics and Computer Science" at the S.Amanzholov University

Doctoral students of the department traveled on academic mobility Dildebai B. (January 12 – May 23, 2023) to Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia), Sarbasova K. (November 7 - December 6, 2022) to Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P.Astafiev (Krasnoyarsk, Russia)

The number of manuals and monographs published by the teachers of the department over the past 4 years amounted to 23 EML for the period from 2019 to 2023.

Итого изданных УМЛ ППС кафедры КМиИТ  19 - на казахском языке, 1 – на английском языке. The total number of published EML PTS of the department of CMaIT is 19 - in Kazakh, 1 – in English.

Teachers of the department annually hold round tables with teachers of schools of the city and the region on the problems of teaching information technologies, participate in methodological seminars on teaching modern educational technologies, conduct master classes after training at advanced training courses of the republican and intra-university level, constantly improve their professional level in methodological work, which is confirmed by certificates. Open classes are held.

Doctoral studies are the final stage of higher education

Since 2018, the Department of Computer Modeling and Information Technology of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences has opened the doctoral program 8D01501-"Informatics" for the training of highly qualified teaching staff for the PhD degree, capable of contributing to scientific research in the field of teaching methods for artificial intelligence, information technology.

For the program, the university has opened a STEM center, a Robolabs educational laboratory, a digital pedagogy laboratory, an inclusive learning laboratory at the Dana bala Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education, a National scientific laboratory for Collective Use, and there are disciplines of multilingual training.

Scientific research is carried out in consultation with scientists from the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai (Almaty), the Institute of Physics, Mathematics and Digital Technologies of the Kazakh National Women's Pedagogical University (Almaty).

The scientific internship is organized on the basis of the Siberian Federal University (Krasnoyarsk, Russian Federation), Altai State University (Barnaul, Russian Federation) and other partner universities of the university.
