International activities of the University plays an important role in enriching the learning experience of students and promoting scientific and cultural exchanges. Sarsen Amanzholov University actively cooperates with educational institutions, research centers and students from all over the world.
Key initiatives of Sarsen Amanzholov EKU in the field of international activities include:
Non profit Limited Company “Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University” actively develops its international activities and maintains more than 90 active cooperation agreements with educational institutions and organizations in more than 30 countries. This extensive network of international partnerships reflects the university’s commitment to global education and research initiatives.
Through these agreements, Sarsen Amanzholov EKU is pursuing a variety of initiatives including:

Mevlana
The aim of the program is – academic exchange between staff and students of
Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries.
– Mevlana program is one of the main programs in the field of education in Turkey.
– Students can study abroad for one (minimum) or two (maximum) semesters.
– Faculty members can lecture abroad from one week (minimum) to three months (maximum). Accordingly, through this program, students and faculty can gain experience of studying a foreign country and enhance their knowledge.

DAAD
DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) is a major organization promoting international exchange of university students and researchers. This service unites more than 200 German universities and about 130 different student organizations and annually allocates a huge number of scholarships to foreign students in Germany, which are monthly up to 850 euros. The opportunity to get this scholarship is also available to residents of our country, as DAAD is represented and actively works in Kazakhstan.

ITEC
Launched in 1964, the ITEC program is an obvious symbol of India’s role and contribution to South-South cooperation and a fundamental pillar of India’s foreign policy. Today, India offers more than 12,000 scholarships per year to 162 partner countries to study in 67 institutions under the ITEC program, fully funded by the Government of India. The training program covers a wide range of subjects in various sectors, including information technology, professional English, financial management, parliamentary studies, agricultural practices, remote sensing, environmental technology and renewable energy. Kazakhstan has been India’s ITEC partner since 1992. Since then, about 1,250 Kazakh citizens – 1,014 civilians and 236 military personnel – have benefited from training courses under the ITEC program.

IAESTE
The International Association for the Exchange of Student Internships for Technical Experience IAESTE was founded in January 1948 at the initiative of Imperial College London with the support of ten other European countries The International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience, Association sans but lucratif (non-profit association), commonly known as IAESTE A.s.b.l. is an association of national committees representing academic, industrial and student interests.
IAESTE serves 4,000 students, 3,000 employers, and 1,000 academic institutions through professional internships abroad, social and intercultural welcome programs, international networking, and other career promotion and branding activities in over 80 countries.

ORHUN
From November 22 to 23, 2022 in Turkestan at the VI Assembly of the Association of Turkic Universities of the Turkic Council under the chairmanship of the International Kazakh–Turkish University named after Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, S.Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University became a full member of the Association of Turkic Universities of the Turkic Council.
It is noted that this assembly has been successfully working for several years with the organization of Turkic States (Turkic Council), having created an association of universities of Turkic-speaking countries. In an effort to integrate the higher education system of the Turkic-speaking countries, the association annually systematically holds a general assembly with the composition of the member universities of the organization to evaluate the activities carried out and plan subsequent stages.
ORHUN Academic Mobility Program within the framework of the Union of Turkic Universities under the Council of Turkic States
Membership in the organization provides an opportunity for academic exchange of students between member universities of the Organization of Turkic Universities from 2023 under the ORHUN program. The coordinator of the program is the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. This is an opportunity to study for 1 semester or 1 year at universities in Turkey, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Hungary.

The Orhun exchange program was successfully launched in 2017 with the support of participating universities. To date, 368 students and 146 teachers from different countries have participated in the mobility.
Academic mobility – the movement of students or teachers-researchers to study or conduct research for a certain academic period: semester or academic year in another organization of undergraduate and (or) postgraduate education (hereinafter – OUPE) with the mandatory re-credit of mastered educational training programs in the form of credits in its OUPE or to continue studies in another OUPE.
Students of Sarsen Amanzholov EKU have three opportunities to participate in academic mobility programs:
1) At the expense of the national budget: This opportunity is provided to undergraduate students who successfully complete the competition within the university. The funding covers airfare, accommodation, visa and insurance. To participate in the competition, the student must have the following conditions:
English language level of at least B2 (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 60).
Students with IELTS or TOEFL certificate may skip the language stage of the competition. Those who do not have a certificate will need to take a language exam at the university.
The grade point average (GPA) must be at least 3.5.
2) University funded: This opportunity is also available to Bachelors and Masters students of our university. Selection is by competition.
Requirements for participants:
English language level not lower than B2 (IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 60).
If a student has an IELTS or TOEFL certificate, he/she can skip the language stage of the competition.
Students with an IELTS or TOEFL certificate may skip the language stage of the competition. Those who do not have a certificate will have to take the language exam at the university.
The grade point average (GPA) must be at least 3.5.
3) At the student’s own expense: Students can finance their own academic mobility by covering all airfare, accommodation, visa and insurance costs. To participate in such a program, the student must have a good level of English language proficiency.
These opportunities allow our students to gain international experience and improve their academic and professional skills.
