A KICKBOXER FROM VKU WON THE MAIN AWARD OF THE INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENT
Yernur Kaiyrbekov won a prestigious kickboxing tournament held in the capital of Uzbekistan last weekend. The third-year student of the Faculty of Culture and Sports already has numerous distinguished titles to his name.
The tournament, organized by the Kickboxing Association of Uzbekistan and the World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO), took place in sunny Tashkent. The event brought together the strongest kickboxers from 50 countries, with more than 3,000 athletes competing in the ring and on the tatami.
Representing Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Yernur competed in the 63.5 kg weight category, defending the honor of Kazakhstan. Over the course of four intense fights, he defeated his opponents and claimed the main prize of the tournament — the World Cup!
This victory not only added a new title to his list of achievements but also served as excellent preparation for the upcoming World Kickboxing Championship, which will take place in the United Arab Emirates next month. Currently, Yernur trains under the guidance of Yerbol Shegenov. Thanks to his perseverance and passion for sports, the third-year student has earned the title of International Master of Sports.
