AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY — AN ACTIVE PARTICIPANT OF THE “SHYGYS SALBURYNY” FESTIVAL

The three-day International Festival “Shygys Salburyyny-2025” concluded at Bürkit Töbe Square in the Ulan district of the East Kazakhstan region. A special contribution to this large-scale event was made by Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

One of the main goals of the festival is the revival of the ancient hunting art, traditions, and cultural heritage of the Kazakh people — a mission strongly supported by Amanzholov University.

At the initiative of the university’s rector, Professor Mukhtar Tolegen, students demonstrated unity and spiritual enthusiasm in promoting national culture. The university community actively participated in the organization of the ethno-village.

At Bürkit Töbe Square, the university set up its traditional yurt, prepared a festive dastarkhan, and treated guests to national dishes. University students and volunteers introduced visitors to Kazakh traditions and showcased the works of local artisans.

Around 500 students took part in the festival, contributing to cultural and ethnographic programs. This experience played an important role in fostering patriotism among young people and awakening their interest in national culture.

At the closing ceremony, speeches were delivered by Nurymbet Saktaganov, Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region; Yerbol Myrzabossynov, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan; and Bagdat Muptikyzy, Vice President of the Republican Federation Qusbegilik, who emphasized the vital role of youth in promoting national arts and traditions.

The festival stage hosted performances by Kenzhebek Zhanabilov, Dosymzhan Tanatarov, the group “Alatau Serileri”, and well-known regional artists, who created a joyful and festive atmosphere for the audience.

“Shygys Salburyyny-2025” is a celebration of national traditions, spirit, and unity. The active involvement of the university’s students and faculty became a harmonious example of the connection between education and upbringing, tradition and innovation.

Thus, Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University became an integral part of this remarkable event dedicated to the culture of the Great Steppe, once again distinguishing itself as an institution that inspires the youth of the East.
