IN AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY, THE CULTURAL ATTACHÉ OF THE EMBASSY OF ITALY, EDOARDO CRISAFULLI, GAVE AN OPEN LECTURE

In East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholov, the director of the Italian Cultural Center in Almaty, cultural attaché of the Embassy of the Italian Republic in Kazakhstan, Edoardo Crisafulli, paid an official visit.

The event was attended by the vice-rector for strategic development and international cooperation, Irina Rovnyakova, faculty members, doctoral students, and students.

The main part of the visit was an open lecture by Edoardo Crisafulli on the topic “Cultural communication and humanistic principles of translation.” During the lecture, the speaker discussed in detail the features of the humanistic school of translation, the importance of mutual understanding between cultures, as well as issues of imagery and philosophical integrity in literary translation.

After the lecture, students and young researchers exchanged views with the guest, asking questions related to international cultural connections, world literature, and translation theory.

As part of the event, a substantive discussion about Italian culture and literature took place. Additionally, an excerpt from an Italian work was translated into Kazakh and Russian, after which the artistic features of the text and issues of cultural harmony in translation were discussed. Students analyzed the work from a literary perspective, paying attention to its philosophical and aesthetic aspects.

One of the highlight moments was a free discussion among participants in Kazakh, Russian, and Italian. This multilingual atmosphere demonstrated the high level of language competence of the students, their ability for intercultural communication, and their readiness to participate in the international academic community.

East Kazakhstan University named after Sarsen Amanzholov continues to expand international cooperation and develop multicultural education. Partnership with the Italian Cultural Center provides students with new opportunities for deep engagement with world culture and participation in international humanitarian projects.
