AN EVENT ON EMERGENCY PREVENTION WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, large-scale fire and tactical drills were held, aimed at preventing emergencies and strengthening the safety culture. The event was conducted in cooperation with the Emergency Department of East Kazakhstan Region and took place in Academic Building №1. The main topic of the drills was “Practicing the actions of faculty, staff, and students in case of fire in Academic Building №1.” The purpose of the training was to improve rapid response skills in dangerous situations, clarify the evacuation procedure, and reinforce the action algorithm for all participants during emergencies.

Faculty, administrative staff, and students participated in the event. According to the scenario, a fire was simulated in Academic Building №1, after which the fire alarm was activated. From that moment, participants acted as if in real conditions — evacuation procedures were carried out.

Emergency service specialists monitored the proper use of fire-fighting equipment, the effectiveness of evacuation exits, and the coordination of movements while directing people to gathering points. Additionally, the university’s civil protection service ensured internal monitoring and coordination.

The purpose of the drills was to assess the readiness of each employee and student to ensure their own safety and provide assistance to others in case of threat. Participants were briefed on fire response procedures, basic safety measures, rules of behavior during evacuation, the importance of remaining calm, maintaining a safe distance, and cooperating with emergency services.

Emergency service specialists demonstrated the correct use of fire-fighting equipment and also paid attention to the condition of stairwells, corridors, and evacuation exits.

After the drills, representatives of the Emergency Department and the university administration conducted a joint analysis. During the discussion, such indicators were considered as compliance with safety rules by faculty, staff, and students, level of discipline and coordination, as well as the speed of evacuation.
