The significance of the meeting was enhanced by the participation of Mukhtar Tolegen, rector of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, who personally congratulated the writer on the state award and noted Alibek Kalyuly’s great contribution to the development of national literature and the cultural life of the region.

“You are the honor, conscience, and pride of our East. We wish you health and well-being. Conquer many more heights and continue bringing glory to your people,” said Mukhtar Tolegen, rector of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

Following the congratulatory speech, the rector, in accordance with Kazakh traditions, ceremonially presented Alibek Kantarbaev with a shapan and traditional headwear, and also handed him a collection of poems dedicated to the writer from the university students.

Students of Amanzholov University also attended the event, for whom Alibek Kantarbaev’s work serves as an important example of devotion to native culture and the preservation of national values. The youth actively engaged in dialogue with the writer, showing interest in his creative journey, views on the development of contemporary literature, and the role of language in social life.

Alibek Kantarbaev is the author of prose and poetry books, chief editor of the literary and cultural almanac of the East Kazakhstan region “Tengirtau”, and a member of the editorial board of the large-scale project “Book Series ‘Abay World’”. His dramatic work “Armandastar” is successfully staged in theaters in Ust-Kamenogorsk and Semey. The writer’s journalistic works, addressing issues of language, traditions, and national identity, have received wide public recognition.

The meeting was an important event both for the literary community and for university students—the future specialists shaping the cultural space of the region. It provided an opportunity not only to congratulate the laureate of the high state award but also to discuss pressing issues in literature and public life.
