From December 18 to 20, 2025, Professor Zhibek Rakhmetulina made a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the scientific project AP23490443 IRN “Human Capital Management and Improvement of Labor Quality in the Context of Digital Economy Development,” funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main focus of the visit was to attend the National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek, one of the leading higher education institutions in the country.
During the visit, working meetings were held with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Abduvohab Umarov, the Head of the Department of Economic Theory, Kahramon Mambetjanov, Doctor of Economics and Professor Shukhrat Yuldashev, as well as with the International Relations Officer, Diyar Karimov. Discussions focused on current scientific directions, including human capital management, labor market transformation, and the impact of digitalization on labor quality.
Special attention was paid to the comparative analysis of national models for assessing human capital, the application of digital indicators, the development of competencies in the context of artificial intelligence implementation, and the formation of sustainable educational trajectories. Prospects for joint publications in international scientific journals were also discussed.
As a result of the meetings, an agreement was reached to develop international scientific cooperation, prepare joint research, and participate in international projects related to the digital economy and human capital issues. Opportunities for academic exchange, joint scientific seminars, and the involvement of young researchers and graduate students in international research groups were considered.
During the visit, Professor Zhibek Rakhmetulina conducted field research, analyzing the institutional environment, educational practices, and methodological approaches to human capital development in Uzbekistan. To form the empirical and theoretical basis for the study, leading scientific libraries in Tashkent were visited, where the necessary statistical, regulatory, and scientific materials for comparative analysis were collected.
This working visit was an important step in expanding the scientific connections of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University with leading universities in Uzbekistan and will contribute to the further development of joint research within the framework of the ongoing scientific project.
