AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY CONGRATULATED LIDIYA KOLYCHALOVA ON HER 90TH BIRTHDAY

Today, Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University honored the distinguished educator and choral conductor Lidiya Kuzminichna Kolyhalova on the occasion of her 90th birthday. A celebratory concert dedicated to her life and professional career was held in her honor.

The rector of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Mukhtar Tolegen, and the vice-rector for strategic development and international cooperation, Irina Rovnyakova, personally attended to congratulate the honoree. In a ceremonial setting, Lidiya Kuzminichna was presented with flowers and the “Kabanbay Batyr” badge for her outstanding contribution to the development of the university’s military-patriotic education for youth.

During the event, the university rector emphasized the significance of the honoree’s role for the history of the university and the region:

“Lidiya Kuzminichna is a person-epoch. Her contribution to the establishment of music education, the upbringing of youth, and the formation of spiritual values cannot be overstated. For Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, which was previously a pedagogical institute, she will forever remain a symbol of dedication to her profession, culture, and service to people,” stressed Mukhtar Tolegen.

Lidiya Kuzminichna Kolyhalova is an outstanding choral conductor and educator whose professional activities are closely linked to the development of music education in East Kazakhstan. After graduating from the Almaty Conservatory, she was sent to Ust-Kamenogorsk, where she began working at the pedagogical institute as well as the music college. For many years, she headed the “Music and Singing” faculty, combining teaching with creative work.

Throughout her career, Lidiya Kuzminichna has trained several generations of musicians, conductors, and educators, made a significant contribution to the development of choral art in the region, and became one of the key figures in the cultural life of East Kazakhstan. Even today, she remains an honored guest at concerts and events, continuing to inspire students and colleagues with her example.

Lidiya Kolyhalova’s anniversary was not only a personal celebration but also an important event for the entire university community, highlighting the value of continuity, dedication to culture, and the role of an educator in shaping youth.
