AN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE DEDICATED TO THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF ANNA YEGORINA WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, an International Scientific and Practical Conference on the topic “Modern Trends in Natural Science Research” was held. The event was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor Anna Vasilyevna Yegorina, a renowned scholar who made a significant contribution to the development of geographical science.

Representatives from higher education institutions and general education schools from Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, and Malaysia participated in the conference. A total of 106 scientific papers were submitted for the sectional sessions, reflecting the high interest of the scientific community in current issues of natural science research.

During the plenary session, several prominent scholars delivered welcome speeches and reports. Among them were Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Physical and Economic Geography at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Astana), K.T. Saparov, and Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Economic Geography and Cartography at Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia), A.N. Dunets.

Special attention at the conference was given to the scientific legacy of Anna Vasilyevna Yegorina. In honor of the anniversary of this outstanding scholar, her colleagues and partners presented reports. Candidate of Geographical Sciences, Professor at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, A.S. Chursin, spoke about her scientific career and pedagogical legacy. T.V. Bashkireva, representative of the Academy of Law and Management of the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service (Ryazan), highlighted Yegorina’s contribution to the development of the Altai studies school. VKU veteran L.A. Linyeva presented a report dedicated to the memory of the scholar.

During the plenary session, current issues were also discussed regarding the development of cross-border tourist territories, the activities of the educational and research ecobio-center, and digital modeling of hydrographic networks.

The conference program was organized into three main directions. The first focused on modern research in Earth sciences, including geography, geology, geoecology, climatology, GIS technologies, and sustainable territorial development. The second direction covered research in natural sciences and ecology, including environmental safety, climate change, rational natural resource use, and environmental monitoring. The third direction was devoted to natural science education and pedagogical innovations, including the implementation of digital technologies in teaching, training of pedagogical staff, and development of the local history component in the educational process.

The organizing committee noted the high activity of young participants, the relevance of the issues discussed for the region, and the practical level of the research presented. Based on the results of the conference, its organization was recognized as successful. A collection of scientific papers from the event is planned for publication.
