“WELCOME, AZ-NAURYZ!”: A CELEBRATION OF NATIONAL TRADITIONS AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY
As part of the “Nauryznama” decade and Digital Nauryz-2026, the Nauryz holiday was celebrated brightly and solemnly within the walls of Amanzholov University. The festive evening titled “Qosh keldin, Az-Nauryz!” became a true symbol of unity, spiritual renewal, and respect for the rich cultural heritage of the Kazakh people.
The event opened with a theatrical performance called “Bastangy.” The stage, decorated in a national style with a traditional dastarkhan and household items, allowed the audience to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Kazakh customs. Through lively dialogue and the students’ performance, one of the beautiful traditions was presented — a youth feast organized in the absence of elders. The performance vividly demonstrated hospitality, respect, and the importance of art in Kazakh culture.
After the vibrant opening, the hosts welcomed the guests and emphasized the deep meaning of the Nauryz holiday — it is not only the spring equinox, but also a time of renewal, hope, and good beginnings.
The evening program was rich and diverse. The audience enjoyed the performance of the famous kui “Erke sylkym,” performed by Rasul Idayatov. The musical atmosphere was further enriched by vocal performances: Ayauly Kazimova, Zhemisgul Beisenkhan, and Dilnaz Serzhan gifted the audience heartfelt songs, filling the hall with warmth and festive spirit.
National games held a special place in the program. Students introduced the audience to traditional games such as “Akshamshyk,” “Aksuyek,” and “Altyn kabak.” Participants not only explained their rules but also revealed their educational value, as each game develops agility, wit, accuracy, and team spirit.
A highlight of the evening was the performance of the folk song “Kumis kumgan-ai,” which added a special sincerity and national flavor to the event.
At the end, the hosts congratulated everyone on the holiday, wishing prosperity, joy, and abundance. The warm words, “May this year be blessed and every home be filled with abundance!” became a beautiful final note of the event.
The festive evening “Qosh keldin, Az-Nauryz!” became a vivid example of how national traditions are preserved and passed on within the university environment, uniting students and filling them with pride for their culture.
