AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY EXPANDS SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION: VISIT TO BAKU

In March 2026, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Professor Zhibek Rakhmetulina took part in an international research visit to the Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) as part of the implementation of the research project “Human capital management and improving the quality of labor resources in the context of digital economy development.”

The purpose of the visit was to develop international scientific ties and strengthen academic cooperation between Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University and UNEC in the field of human capital research and labor market transformation in the digital economy. As part of the visit, scientific seminars, working meetings with foreign researchers, and exchanges of research results and methodological approaches to studying digital transformations in employment were conducted.

During the visit, methodological seminars were organized with the academic staff of the Russian School of Economics at UNEC. The discussions focused on the development of competencies in the field of the digital economy and labor market analysis. An important part of the visit included working meetings with the leadership of the Russian School of Economics at UNEC. In particular, negotiations were held with the Director of the School, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Mansur Barkhudarov; Deputy Director, Doctor of Philosophy in Economics, Associate Professor Leyla Hajiyeva; and Head of the Department of Digital Technologies and Applied Informatics, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor Sevinj Abbasova. During these meetings, prospects for international cooperation, as well as the preparation of joint scientific publications and research, were discussed. In addition, a meeting was held with Rasul Yusibov, Head of the External Relations Division of the Department of International Cooperation, and Gunel Jalilova, a specialist of the department.

As part of the negotiations, opportunities for expanding institutional cooperation, participation in international programs, and the implementation of joint projects were considered. During the visit, Zhibek Rakhmetulina also conducted field research and visited scientific and university libraries in the city of Baku, where analytical and statistical materials were collected, and international publications and best practices in developing digital competencies and human capital management were studied. Following the scientific mission, participation is planned in the International Scientific and Practical Conference “New Trends in the Global Economy in the Context of Digitalization” (May 4–5, 2026), organized jointly by Kunaev University (Almaty), UNEC (Baku), and Almaty Humanitarian and Economic University, as well as the preparation of joint scientific publications with international partners.

The results of the international research visit have practical significance within the framework of the research project. The materials, analytical data, and international experience obtained during the visit will be used in developing scientific and methodological approaches to assessing human capital, forming models for labor market transformation, and improving tools for managing labor resources in the digital economy. The established scientific contacts and agreements with international partners create a foundation for conducting joint research, preparing publications, and testing project results at the international level. The implementation of these areas will enhance the scientific value of the project and ensure its practical orientation in the context of contemporary challenges of digital economic development.
